Crash Kills West Monroe Man

State Police say a crash involving a motorcycle, claimed the life of a West Monroe man.
Troopers say the crash happened Tuesday afternoon on Louisiana Highway 34 south of Interstate 20.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2009 Harley-Davidson driven by 44-year-old James McKeithen of West Monroe, was traveling south on Louisiana Highway 34 when a 2006 Chevrolet flatbed truck, driven by 23-year-old Alan Hall of West Monroe, turned into the path of the Harley-Davidson by making a left turn onto Louisiana Highway 34 north. The Harley-Davidson hit the Chevrolet, ejecting McKeithen from the Harley-Davidson.
McKeithen suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ouachita Parish Coroner's Office. McKeithen was wearing a helmet. Hall was wearing a seat belt and did not report any injuries from the crash.
Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash. Toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted for analysis. Hall was cited with failure to yield. The crash remains under investigation.
