One Injured in Monroe Drive-by Shooting

10:30 a.m. Update:

Monroe Police are releasing new information about a drive by shooting that happened early Monday morning.
Police the shooting happened in the 2700 Block of Olive Street right near Magnolia Park.
Police say group of males were standing around the area in the street, when a car drove by and shots were fired.

One male was shot in the chest. He was taken to a local hospital where he underwent surgery.
Police say he is expected to survive.

The suspected shooter is still on the loose. A description of the vehicle used in the shooting was not available.

Police were still on the scene of the shooting gathering information.



3:30 Monday Morning:

Monroe Police were called to Magnolia Park near Short Washington Street after receiving calls about a shooting.  The shooting happened around 3:00 Monday morning.  Police said a man was shot in the park, and transported to Saint Francis Medical Center by a car.  We'll have more details as this story further develops.Heres info on the shooting this morning to put online in case you don't have it.
