Monroe Police Investigates an Accidental Shooting

The Monroe Police Department is investigating an accidental shooting that left one man in the hospital. The shooting happened around 8:00 Sunday night on the 800-block of Burroughs Street in Monroe. Police said one person was accidentally shot in the lower abdomen, and taken to Saint Francis Medical Center.
Police arrested 62 year-old, Larry D. Johnson on the scene. Johnson was not arrested in connection with the accidental shooting. Police said, he is a convicted felon who is not allowed to be in possession of a fire arm. Johnson is booked at Ouachita Correction Center.
