Update: 8 Year-Old Death Ruled Accidental

Update, 1/22: The Jackson Parish Sheriff's Department has completed its investigation into the suspicious death of an eight-year-old Jackson Parish child.
They've concluded that the fatal shooting was accidental.
No criminal charges will be pursued.

HODGE, La. -- An 8-year-old was found dead Monday afternoon at a Jackson Parish home and sheriff's deputies say for now they are treating this as a homicide investigation.
The 8-year old was found dead at a home located at the 7600 block of Quitman Highway in Hodge.
Jackson Parish Sheriff Andy Brown says the child died of a gunshot wound to the head.
The name of the child has not been released.
NBC 10 News went to the home, but the family declined to comment.
Sheriff Brown says his office has "more work to do."
