Family of Missing Rayville Man Finds Potential Evidence

The family of a Rayville man missing for four months says authorities aren't doing enough to find him.

Investigators say they've had several tips that led nowhere, but family members tell NBC 10 the police aren't taking the case seriously because Berry was a methamphetamine user.

"I just feel like this case is not really being investigated like it should be," says his father John Berry.

The 35-year-old left his home around 7a.m. on September 13^th and never came back. He's missed Christmas, New Years and even the birth of his third child in these four months and now his family members says they have evidence police overlooked.

The eldest berry says he's found evidence investigators overlooked---dirty clothes and even dark stains on Berry's truck.

The same truck investigators searched after it turned up in Franklin Parish after Josh went missing.

John Berry says his son has left home before-- for 9-months-- to escape legal trouble be he always called.

Now with no sign of Josh, his wife, Jessica, struggles to explain the situation to their 6 and 8-year-old young daughters.

Jessica says when she cleans their rooms; she often finds pictures of their father under their pillows.

"I tell them he's lost and that wherever he is he is missing trying to find his way home and we are trying to help him find his way home," she says.

The Richland Parish Sheriff says he's sent the clothes the family found to a forensics lab for testing, and he's following leads.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information surrounding Berry's disappearance.
