The University of Louisiana at Monroe Police Department will test the emergency alert siren at 9 a.m. Friday.
An official will announce that the test is about to be performed, and the siren will sound for approximately one minute.
The emergency alert siren runs internal system checks daily and reports its current status via e-mail. This upcoming test on Friday is a function check of the audible siren.
The siren is on top of the tower at Walker Hall and is designed to provide campus-wide warnings of inclement weather, fire, or other emergency situation.
