EF-1 Tornado Damages 30 Homes & Businesses in St. Martin Parish

The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF 1 tornado with an
approximate fifty yards wide and three mile long path hit St. Martin Parish Thursday morning.
Following an assessment by St. Martin Parish OHSEP Officials, it appears that approximately 30 homes and businesses sustained minor to severe damage due to the high winds that came through Breaux Bridge this morning just before 6:00 a.m.

The damage ranged from outbuildings being destroyed, to trees falling on houses, mobile home roofs ripped off, and roof damage to several homes and businesses.
