MONROE -- Miss Louisiana returned to Louisiana Sunday after competing in the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas Saturday night.
She was greeted by friends, family and fans as she got off the plane Sunday afternoon at Monroe Regional Airport.
Although the Louisiana Tech Senior and Shreveport native did not make the top 15 contestants, she says competing in the Miss America pageant has been a life changing experience.
Lauren says the words of encouragement she received throughout the week were greatly appreciated as she vied for the title of Miss America.
"My goal was to go and do my best and represent Louisiana well and I did," says Vizza. "I have no regrets and in fact, I've learned so much about myself in ten days that I didn't even think was possible."
Now that the competition has ended, Lauren will join her fellow classmates and prepare for graduation this spring.
Miss Louisiana 2012 says law school is next on her agenda after she graduates.
