BESE Agrees to Mandate Changes

BESE is throwing its support behind the Louisiana Superintendent of Education's plans to change policies that govern school districts.
Some of the changes include doing away with the statewide school calendar and P.E. standards.
Students will now get credit for activities like cheerleading and marching band.
Schools can now decide how many librarians or counselors they need at their particular school.
