Convicted Felon Robs Man at Monroe Apartment Complex

MONROE -- Monroe Police detectives have arrested a man in connection to a robbery at a Monroe apartment complex.
Police arrested 37-year old Deraryll J. Cole,in connection with the robbery earlier Monday at the Oliver Road Apartments on the 2400 Oliver Road.
The victim told police that he was looking for an address on Justice Street and pulled into the apartments for directions.
Police say that's when Cole approached the victim with a gun demanding money. The suspect took an undetermined amount of cash and drove off in a vehicle.
Police say based on a good description provided by the victim, the Cole was quickly located by patrolman in South Monroe.
Police say Cole is being booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center for one count of Armed Robbery, one count of Possession of a fireman by a convicted felon, and also for being in possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
