RUSTON -- Ruston firefighters battled a blaze at a funeral home Saturday morning.
It happened around 10 a.m. on the 1200 block of Jones Street at the Our Christian Funeral Home.
Eric Brazzel with the Ruston Fire Department sent to us this photo of the fire at the scene. (Click player above to watch video shot at the scene.)
Two bodies were being prepared at the time, but neither were harmed in the fire. One had visitation the day before and was being prepared for the funeral today, while the other had arrived Saturday morning.
Fire officials say no funeral home workers or firefighters were injured during the fire.
Ruston fire crews worked the fire for several hours, with the help of Lincoln Parish and Choudrant Fire Departments.
The cause is still under investigation, and Brazzel said a cause may not be determined until next week.
Brazzel said the building is large, but is mostly considered a total loss due to the damage from the fire.
