Union Parish Deputies Make Drug Bust on Two Men

UNION PARISH -- Two 22-year old men were arrested by Union Parish patrol deputies over the weekend on drug-related charges.
Vincent Michael Passerrello of Sterlington, and Joseph Christopher Corrent of Monroe, were booked Saturday night in the Union Parish Detention. Each were booked for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Passerrello was additionally charged with resisting arrest.
Passerrello's bond was set at $14,000 and Corrent's at $13,250.
According to the arrest report, deputies saw two vehicles blocking the roadway of La. Highway 2 near River Road on the Union Parish side of the Ouachita River.
The driver of the vehicle, Passerrello, denied he had any illegal substances on his person or in the vehicle.
When deputies searched him, more than 18 grams of marijuana was found on Passerrello and Corrent told deputies that they hid the illegal narcotic during the traffic stop, the report stated.
The juvenile driving the other vehicle was issued summons for resisting and impeding traffic. The report stated that he fled the scene, drove about 50 yards, stopped and then ran from the scene..
