Monroe Schools Superintendent Search Delay?

The process to find the next Monroe City Schools Superintendent may take longer than first expected.
The superintendent search screening committee is taking a step back before they start analyzing applications.
During a meeting Tuesday evening - committee members voiced concerns about the rubric scoring style and some wording within it... the rubric was provided by the superintendent search committee made up of several board members and approved by the entire school board before being passed on to the screening committee.
Chairwoman Sandie Lollie says while this will slow down the process of narrowing down the 19 candidates - it's worth it in the end.
"We have had some bad weather days which already had elongated our timeline. so what I think is, in the effort of getting it right, so we have to extend the timeline a little bit, I think it's going to be ok."
The screening committee will meet Monday to discuss changes to the rubric they will suggest to the school board.
The screening committee is made up of 19 volunteer members who are charged with narrowing down the candidate pool for superintendent from 19 to three-to-five people for the school board to consider.
The committee will meet again on Monday.
