WEST MONROE -- The Krewe of PAWS Mardi Gras Pet Parade brought out many four legged friends this morning as they traveled down Anituqe Alley in West Monroe.

The Mardi Gras Pet Parade wowed the crowds with four-legged friends dressed in costume Saturday afternoon.

Dozens of dogs and cats strutted their stuff in the parade, along with horses and even a goat.

The animals dressed up in Mardi Gras attire and competed for "Best Costume."

King Grayson, a long-haired Dachshund, served as the parade's royalty.

The parade is the only in Northeast Louisiana that is meant for the dogs and other pets.

The pets were judged on best costume for large and small dog and best costume for non - canine animals.

The parade also offered face painting, music, and games for children. Special guests for the parade included the King  & Queen of Janus.

The proceeds collected from this fundraising event will remain in the Ouachita Parish community to  benefit PAWS of NELA and PAWS Spay/Neuter Services.
