KEDM News Director Bob Lenox will moderate a panel of experts including Ouachita Parish School Superintendent Dr. Bob Webber, City of Monroe Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Lt. Doug Tarver, and University of Louisiana at Monroe Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice Dr. Robert Hanser. These leaders will provide details on current procedures, precautions, and new proposals to ensure protection.
"Improving school safety is at the forefront of so many conversations," says Lenox. "We hope to give parents, teachers, and concerned citizens a chance to find out more about local and state initiatives on safety in our school districts."
The "Policy and a Pint" series is designed to provide access to experts on community issues in an informal atmosphere. The first event, held in October, discussed plans by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to remove trees along the Ouachita River.
KEDM Public Radio--located at 250 Stubbs Hall on the University of Louisiana at Monroe campus--is a community partner dedicated to improving the quality of life in the listening area.
