Accused Scrap Metal Thieves Arrested in Union Parish

UNION PARISH -- Two El Dorado, Ark., residents were arrested Saturday after being arrested on property where some scrap metal was taken.
 
Darryl Dewayne Parum, 33, was booked into the detention center for criminal trespassing and theft under $500. His accomplice, Rhonda K. Moreland, 40, was booked for criminal trespassing the theft under $100.
 
A patrolling deputy, who had received complaints concerning suspicious vehicles in the area, spotted a Ford Ranger parked in the area of the 300 block of Farrar Rd.

During questioning, Parum admitted that he and his wife were in Louisiana looking for scrap metal because he was unemployed.
 
Their bonds were set at $3,000 each.
