MONROE -- On Monday morning at Delta Community College, local students were on hand for a service learning fair.
The fair was designed to let students know what local volunteer services are available for them to take part in.
About 20 groups were on hand.
"We've been talking about it in class -- we need to get ut and make our community a better place," said Octavia Stack, a student. "My teacher said volunteer work would be the best way to make the community a better place, so I'm here."
Organizers say the point of the service learning fair was to bring classroom work and real world life together.
