CNN -- The family of the late football coach Joe Paterno accuses Penn State of a rush to judgment in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse case.

The family released a new report Sunday on their web site by former Attorney General Dick Thornburgh.

Thornburgh reviewed  F-B-I Director Louis Freeh's report on the Sandusky sex scandal, which was commissioned by Penn State.

Thornburgh finds the university's Freeh Report was "factually wrong, speculative and fundamentally flawed ".

And that it was was based on raw speculation and unsupported opinion.

The Freeh report blamed Paterno, the university and other college personnel for covering up Sandusky's crimes.

Paterno was ousted as Penn State head football coach after the Freeh report. Paterno died of cancer in January of 2012.

Sandusky was convicted on 45-counts of child sex abuse last June. He was sentenced to 30-to-60 years in prison in October.
