Cuts for El Dorado School District

El Dorado School Board members voted to eliminate a total of 6 and a half positions in foreign language, dance, family and consumer sciences, administration, librarian and counselor.
The cuts will save the district just under 600 thousand dollars for the 2013-2014 school year.
Board members say while the cuts were difficult to make, they were necessary.
"It's always difficult when you have a reduction in force, but we're thankful that it wasn't as deep as we originally thought it was to be."
District officials say that all staff members currently impacted by the cuts have been notified that their position will be eliminated.
