Olympic Sprinter, Oscar Pistorius has been involved in a shooting at his home in South Africa.
Police in Pretoria, received a call this morning from the home of the double-amputee, who's known as "blade runner." The caller said there had been a shooting at the residence. When officers arrived, they found paramedics trying to revive a thirty-year-old woman who had been shot an unspecified number of times. The woman died at the home. At least one local news report there claims, Pistorius may have mistaken his girlfriend as an intruder and shot her.
Officers say they found a nine-millimeter pistol at the scene. They took the twenty-six-year-old runner into custody. He is expected to appear in court later today.
Pistorius made history at the London Olympics last year when he became the first double-amputee runner to compete on the track at the Olympics.
We will have more details as this story further develops.
