Wellspring Ouachita Parish Offices No Longer Accepting Used Clothing Donations

By: Staff
Updated: February 15, 2013
Effective Monday Feb. 18th until further notice, The Wellspring offices in Ouachita Parish will not be able to accept donations of used clothing items, purses, shoes, belts, etc. We WILL continue to accept donations of any household items and furniture such as these:

         Bedding: Sheets, pillows, bedspread/comforters

Kitchen items (sets when possible): Dishes, pots and pans, silverware, glasses, toaster, can opener

Bath items: Towels, wash cloths, shower curtains

Household items: Curtains, pictures, decorations, clocks, irons, ironing boards, lamps, furniture (beds, mattresses, chest of drawers, tables, chairs), phone, answering machine, TVs, luggage

Children's items: Car seats, strollers, school supplies

         Miscellaneous: Cell phones

Said Valerie Bowman, Director of The Wellspring's Domestic Violence Program, "This change will allow us to reorganize our Donation Center to better serve our clients, donors, and community. We would also like to take this opportunity to say "Thank you" for the many donations of items we receive each year.  We simply could not serve the many families that we do without the community support we are blessed with. So many of those who come to us for help will need to start a new household and will need all of the items anyone would to start that new household. Donations are the primary source of those items. We are so grateful to the families, the churches, the individuals - to everyone here who donate those items to give those we serve a new start."

The Wellspring Franklin and Morehouse Parish offices will continue to accept and encourage donations of used clothing items as well as those shown above. New clothing items are accepted at all locations.
