A LaSalle Parish town is moving forward with major upgrades to it's parks.
Engineers with the town of Jena are currently seeking quotes for demolishing their public pool.
The pool is over 60 years old and is in need of major repair. Leaders hope to have the old pool converted to a splash park this summer.
Last year, Jena qualified to received nearly a half million dollars in grant money from Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
The money will go toward the "Live Lively LaSalle" project which will fund upgrades to parks and walking trails through the town.
