This afternoon, the water and sewage commission met to accept the service of a local businessman with extensive experience in customer service who will conduct a comprehensive study of the water company's customer service practices.
The study will include evaluating customer service policies, rules, employees, facilities, and customers.
The evaluator will have access to every aspect of the water company and will ride along with service vehicles.
Commission members say they are glad that the council is willing to give them a second chance before possibly abolishing them.
"We've opened up lines of communication that quite frankly we haven't had in the past and it's been good and so we're very confident and very pleased that the council has agreed to postpone any action."
The evaluation is expected to be completed within 3 to 4 weeks and the commission will address the council in 90 days with their progress before final action is taken by the council.
