MCSD Responds to Amendment to Sales Tax Lawsuit

MONROE, LA - We have been made aware of the amended lawsuit that rehashes the same line of innuendo and unsupported claims set forth in the original version. Additionally, it seeks to address deficiencies in the original lawsuit, and is an attempt to make a better and stronger case for the court to grant class action certification. Our previously stated position, expressing our disagreement with all claims that the School District violated its obligations as an employer, and that it underpaid or erroneously paid its employees, has not changed. The School District reaffirms its position that it has honored its obligations owed to all employees, both past and present. We will defend this position in Court.
