Two Arrested After South Monroe Shooting

MONROE -- Two people have been arrested after a shooting in south Monroe Wednesday morning.
It happened just before eleven o'clock South 9th Street.
Police say J'Marquis Newton tried to enter the home of Jametrish Gibson to get some clothes.
The two had been in a relationship.
When Gibson wouldn't let him in, authorities say Newton broke in through a screen door causing minor injuries to Gibson.
Police say once Newton entered, Gibson fired two shots at him he was not injured but is charged with trespassing and negligent injury.
Gibson is charged with aggravated assault with a gun.
