BRANSON, Mo. -- The man charged with shooting his wife to death in a Branson hotel last week has been arrested in Branson.
Branson police say Thomas Phillip Brown, 68, was taken into custody about 2 a.m. Thursday at the Hampton Inn Hotel on Highway 76. Police say the arrest was made without incident and Brown was alone in the room.
Officers served a search warrant for the room and found a gun, but tests will have to be done to know if it is the same gun used to kill Brown's wife.
Marilyn Brown, 63, was found in a guest room of the Ramada Resort and Convention Center last Sunday, the day the couple was due to check out. The couple checked in on Thursday, February 21. The wife's body was found Sunday by a cleaning crew.

The victim had been shot to death. The couple had recently relocated to Branson from Palm Springs, California. According to court documents (below), investigators learned the husband did not want to be in Branson, where the murder happened.
Brown is charged with Murder and Armed Criminal Action. He'll eventually be held in Taney County Jail.
The probable cause statement, on file with the Taney County Circuit Court, says the couple were forced to live out of motel rooms because they were unable to live where they had planned.
