WEST MONROE -- Dogs of all shapes and sizes put their skills to the test in the Agility Dog Trials in West Monroe.
The Ouachita Valley Dog Training Club put together a competition this weekend at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center.
The pups run through different obstacle courses, competing for ribbons and dog toys. Courses included jumping over fences or weaving through bars as quickly as possible.
"I just have fun with my dogs, it's a good way to play with your dogs, mine are high energy and this is a good outlet for them," said Alicia Bennett, a competitor with two collies.
The club offers classes ranging from novice to advanced for owners and their dogs to learn how to run through such courses.
"A lot of dogs are high energy, so they need that good outlet, or they'll get in trouble -- they can chew things up," said Bennett.
The competitions happen twice a year. There's still another one coming up in June. If you are interested in taking part, email Gaile Clary at bichon3@mac.co or call 318-343-9270.
