Trio Arrested for Operating a Meth Lab

RUSTON -- Three Ruston residents were arrested over the weekend by Union Parish sheriff's deputies for operation/creation of a clandestine methamphetamine lab.
Sheriff Bob Buckley identified the trio as Jason W. Rockett, 43, Shawna Lee Jessup, 36, and Stephen Anthony Straub, 39. Bonds were set $7,500.
Rockett was additionally charged with driving while impaired with that bond set at $1,500.
The three arrests were the result of a call received by Crime Stoppers of Union Parish.
Buckley said deputies followed Rockett's vehicle down numerous back streets around Farmerville. The vehicle was stopped when it turned onto La. Hwy. 33 south headed toward Ruston.
The vehicle was stopped for improper lane usage and a subsequent search turned up pseudoephedrine and a cold pack, both of which can be used is creating meth, the sheriff said.
