The much anticipated "Taste of Franklin and Catfish Cookoff" is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 21 at the River of Life Church on Highway 15 South in Winnsboro.

The event is co-sponsored by the Winnsboro-Franklin Chamber of Commerce, the Franklin Parish Catfish Festival, along with the Franklin Parish Tourism Commission and serves to not only promote the local food service industry, but to also kick-off the annual Franklin Parish Catfish Festival. This year's Catfish Festival is scheduled for Saturday, April 13.

Taste of Franklin tickets are available for $20 per person and provide attendees an evening of great food and fun in an informal "all-you-can-taste" setting. In addition to a wide variety of 'culinary delights", each ticket holder will be entered in a drawing to win one of many fabulous door prizes donated by the generous businesses and individuals located throughout Franklin Parish.

The number of tickets sold for the Taste of Franklin will be limited, and tickets may not be available at the door. Interested persons should call the Chamber office at 435-4488 for ticket information.
The Taste of Franklin features local "chefs", restaurants, caterers, and entrepreneurs who will prepare their signature dishes for the public, as well as those special treats created by "Catfish Cookoff" participants.

Local merchants will also be on hand to promote the latest in food products and food related items.
Those attending this year's event will be treated to a sampling of a wide variety of delicious food ranging from barbeque to fried catfish to casseroles to homemade pies, and everything in between.
Space is limited so interested participants in the Taste of Franklin or the Catfish Cookoff are urged to contact the Chamber office at (318) 435-4488 for registration information as soon as possible.
