Push to Increase Minimum Wage in Arkansas Legislature Fails

The push to raise the minimum wage in Arkansas is over after it failed to make it out of a House committee this morning.
Rep. Butch Wilkins of Bono submitted the bill. He wants to raise Arkansas' minimum wage to $8.25 an hour. Currently the state minimum wage is $6.25 an hour.
It went before the House Committee on Public Health, Welfare and Labor where it needed 11 votes before it could move on to the full House.
The bill only received five votes.
