New Behavorial Health Unit at Glenwood Regional Medical Center

A new facility to help the rising need for psychiatric health care has opened in Ouachita Parish.
Glenwood Regional Medical Center cut the ribbon on their new adult behavioral health unit this afternoon.
The new 20 bed facility will offer inpatient psychiatric care for patients 18 to 64 and will provide individual care for both acute care patients and those with traditional mood disorders.
Glenwood officials say this is the most advanced mental health facility in the state.
"Mental health is severely under served throughout all of Louisiana not just in northeast Louisiana. This is the newest and one of the most advanced psychiatric facilities you will find in the state of Louisiana as a whole" said Eric Rutledge

Glenwood invested around $1.8 million in the new unit.
