Monroe Superintendent Finalists Named Tomorrow

The superintendent search committee for the Monroe City School District is expected to name its finalists on Tuesday.
The group is holding two meetings Tuesday afternoon one of which they'll unveil the list of finalists they'll pass on to the Monroe City School Board.
The group met last month and narrowed the candidates down to these 10 people:
Brent Vidrine, Neville High Principal, Monroe
M. David Claxton, Sallie Humble Principal, Monroe
Brenda Shelling, Former MCSB Member, Monroe
Dr. Billye Burns, Former Dist. 17 Rep. Candidate, West Monroe
Dr. Tammye Turpin, Int. Chief Academic Officer, Monroe Schools
Dr. Mary Nash Robinson, Caddo School District
Dr. Charles Michel, Metairie, Lafourche School District
Dr. Mary Guinn, Metairie, Independent Educational Consultant
Dr. Valerie Fields, South Carolina State University
Dr. Roy Higgins, Dekalb Co., GA School District
The School Board is also meeting on Tuesday. The superintendent search is on the agenda, but it's unclear at this point what if any action will be taken during Tuesday's meeting.
