Police: OCC Escapee Steals Car in Monroe

MONROE -- Monroe Police are investigating a stolen vehicle taken by a OCC escapee.
Police say around 8 a.m. the Monroe Police Department responded to a reported stolen vehicle that occurred in the 3200 block of Concordia while it was parked at a repair shop.
Police say the keys were still in the vehicle and Dale Demoss, of Monroe took the vehicle without permission and fled the area.
Monroe Police utilized ONSTAR and located the vehicle in the area of Standifer Ave in south Monroe.
Demoss was arrested after short foot chase. Demoss was found to be an escapee from OCC work release.
Demoss booked at OCC on above charges.
