MONROE -- The arraignment of former Monroe City Engineer Sinyale Morrison is postponed until April 1.

Morrison was indicted by a grand jury last month on payroll fraud charges.

The case stems back to a 2011 audit.  The audit suggested Morrison may have violated state law when she hired an employee and paid him for work he had not done.

That former employee is Richardo Nance. Nance, who no longer works for the city, will also face one count of payroll fraud.

If convicted both could face $1,000 in fines and up to five years in prison.
