WEST MONROE, LA - March 20th marks the official first day of spring, and some local folks held a celebration to welcome in the new season. Over 300 seniors packed the West Ouachita Senior Center for the 2013 Easter Luncheon.

Even the easter bunny could be seen joining in the festivities. Easter candy, a catered meal, and moving into the warmer months had most folks pretty excited.

"When we throw a party, we throw a party," said Cynthia Holland, Program Manager for the West Ouachita Senior Center. "And believe me, seniors, ages sixty and over, they just love to come and have a good time. And this is their center. And they love to have a good time here."

Entertainment was provided by the Broadway Wannabees, a volunteer senior drama club.

For part of the show, they modeled several interesting fashions: From a tea dress decked out with teabags, to a ball gown decorated in various sporting balls.
