LSBDC at ULM Expands its Reach to Morehouse Parish

MONROE -- The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at University of Louisiana and Morehouse Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) have joined forces to offer business consulting and training to small businesses in Morehouse Parish. Every second Thursday of the month from 1 pm to 4 pm, starting April 11, the LSBDC at ULM will provide no-cost, confidential business consulting at the MEDC located in the Capital One Bank Building at101 South Franklin Street Suite A in Bastrop..
"We are looking forward to our partnership with the LSBDC. Our goal is to help strengthen small businesses in Morehouse Parish and position them for greater growth and profitability," said Kay King, MEDC President. "This is a great opportunity for local businesses to get firsthand advice from business experts at no cost to them."
The LSBDC at ULM will offer consulting services in key business areas including sales and marketing, cash flow management, strategic planning, market/industry research and access to capital. "The objective of this partnership is to help boost the economy by growing existing businesses and fostering new startups in Northeast Louisiana," said Mary Lynn Wilkerson, LSBDC State Director. "Our consultants will work one-on-one with small businesses to conduct a complete financial analysis, provide access to market research and develop strategies designed to help small businesses increase sales."
The LSBDC will also hold a Starting & Financing a Small Business workshop once per quarter starting Tuesday, April 9 at the Bastrop Visitor's Center located at 124 N. Washington Street in Bastrop from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
