Suspect Holds Toddler Hostage With Knife

A Monroe man is in custody after police say he held a knife to a two year old's neck and held him hostage.
This happened Thursday night just before 8 p.m at 1101 Richwood Road #2 apt. 194
Police say Henry Chapman forced his way into the apartment and took a two year old boy hostage and placed a knife to the boy's neck while leaving the apartment.
Chapman was confronted by witnesses and the mother outside the apartment and released the child. Chapman was located by officers at the complex and taken into custody.
Before police arrived at the scene, Chapman had been assaulted by unknown parties and had to be treated at an area hospital.
Chapman was then booked into OCC for Aggravated Burglary, Kidnapping, and Cruelty to a Juvenile. Investigation is continuing.
His bond is set at $30,000.
