More Oak Grove Arrests

Deadly fire destroyed this house and took 3 lives early last week. Tiffany Davis, 19; Derrick Davis, 17; and 4 year old Devin Christmas. All were trapped in a blaze, State fire and police investigators say was arson. Derrick davis was an Oak Grove football standout. Tiffany Davis shared a son with one of the 6 suspects now in custody. All 6 suspects were brought here to west carrol parish sheriffs office, where they were booked. The charge--first degree murder. The suspects: Nicholas Hullaby and Nathan Smith, 19; Eldrick Smith, 18; Hurk Harris 32, and an unidentified 15 year old male. They join Marcus Jones, 18, who was arrested late Wednesday for conspiracy to commit arson. That charge has since been upgraded to first degree murder. The grandmother of the suspects says theyve got the wrong people. She says the two families were like one. "Theyre apart of me, too,” Sylvia Smith said. “And I hurt for them. I am hurting." She, also, says the families have known each other since she was young and shared alot. Another reason she finds it hard to believe her grandchildren could do this.
