Thanksgiving is a day of giving thanks for the things we have, but where did it all come from? We asked Ark-La-Miss residents about the first American Turkey Day.
"What did the Pilgrims eat on their first Thanksgiving?"
"Turkey! Corn? They didnt have turkey? So, that lets out ham and all those other things."
"Name one thing the Pilgrims ate on the first thanksgiving"?
Corn.
"What was the name of the boat that sailed the pilgrims to America?
The Mayflower!
For some, it was a team effort to get all the answers right.
What was the name of the boat that sailed the Pilgrims to America?
"The Mayflower!"
Name at least one thing the Pilgrims ate at the first Thanksgiving?
"Corn! Uhhh, I dont know.
Where did the Pilgrims first land?
"Plymouth Rock"
Now our bonus question was not answered correctly by anyone today. The question is, what year did Thanksgiving become an official holiday? The answer is 1863 and it was declared by Abraham Lincoln.
For those of you who missed a few questions, you have a whole year to brush up for next Thanksgiving.
