Wayne Dennis is an 11th grade student at Wossman High.
He likes school and liked his assistant principal, Tamra McCarter.
"She was a good principal,β said Dennis. βShe helped out around the school a lot with schedules and grades and all that. She was a nice person around the school."
That all came to an end last month when McCarter was removed from her duties at Wossman. Investigators say Monroe City School officials contacted them after school officials *claim* they discovered that she had falsified time sheets.
Those timesheets put more than 4 thousand dollars into the hands of her son, hired to tutor students and coach soccer at the school. Investigators say many of the hours were never worked.
Police say at the time of the arrest, McCarter admitted to falsifying the documents. But, she also said she did so because her principal told her, too.
Investigators said the false timesheets were turned in between November 2008 and February 2009. That was when school officials said they noticed a problem and started their own investigation. In response to McCarters arrest they would only say she has since retired from the system and they wish her the best.
