Police are on the hunt for two men tonight they say mugged a West Monroe man. At around 10 pm last night, William Calhoun noticed his headlight flickering. Held up by a train, he got out around South 24th and Desiard Street. What happened next is described as cruel and shocking by neighbors.

Police say a man went up to him, waved a gun and demanded money. When the victim said he didn't have any, the robber beat him with the gun. Then a second robber came up and hit Calhoun, causing a gash over his eye...then as the victim tried to escape, one of the men opened fire on his car.

Police know very little about the two robbers right now. they are believed to be both male. One of them is described as a slim black male, 6 foot in his early 20's, who was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt. If you have any information, you're asked to call crime stoppers at 388-cash.
