Brittany Dunn, neighbor of Freggie Mack described the night of the shooting, "Scary, real scary. Nervous. I didn't know what to do. I was hiding."

Brittany Dunn heard the shots ring out around two o'clock Wednesday morning.

The gunfire was so loud, she heard it from her home, three doors down.

The shots came from Freggie Mack's home on Langford Drive in Monroe.

Moments later, inside that home, police say they found a shocking scene:  a man named Freggie Mack, stark naked, standing over the bleeding form of his own mother.  Police also found Mack's 10-year old son, shot.  And Mack's pit bull, shot to death.

Police arrested Mack and charged him with two counts of attempted first degree murder and  possession of cocaine.

Now police are trying to figure out what happened inside the home before the shots rang out.

Mack’s friend, Carlos Shoulder shared his opinion, "No idea. You can't really tell cause I guess he just kept it to himself, never told any of us."

Brittany Dunn has her own opinion about what happened that night.

Dunn said, "At the time being he probably be going thought some stuff- you know selling some stuff, drugs whatever. Drugs can make you do stuff like that and they don't realize what they doing and they should realize what they were doing and it shouldn't be like that."

Investigators say Mack admitted he shot his mom, but says he doesn't remember much else.

Now police are waiting for a toxicology report to see if Mack was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
