The heat is on.
Extreme heat has arrived -- and it's only getting hotter.
Temperatures are expected to rise above the triple digit mark.
Which means ac repairmen like Albert Murphy are working non stop.
And like a doctor -- he's taking calls at all hours of the night to help the frantic.
"They are hot they want it fixed they don't care what it is they want it fixed," says Murphy. Murphy says having your ac unit cleaned once a year is the key to keeping your ac flowing. 90% of calls that Murphy gets is because of a dirty ac unit.
If we break it down, a cleaning costs about $150 dollars. But repairs or having to replace your unit can cost big bucks: $1800 to even $20,000.
But not everyone is so lucky. The Moy family has been living for months without ac. They've even erected a tent outside to cool down because the house is sweltering. Something some families are just having to do ...as temperatures continue to climb.
