South Arkansas Hotel Robbed

Shortly after midnight on Sunday, police were called to the Econo Lodge in El Dorado in response to a robbery. Captain Billy White, a detective with the El Dorado Police Department said, “When we arrived, the desk clerk was hiding behind the counter of the business. She reported that three masked males had entered the business, instructed her to give them the money and then for her to lay on the floor.” According to a police report—the men then fled the building and took with them a small undetermined amount of cash. Captain White said, “The scene was processed and officers were able to recover a surveillance system from the business as well as fingerprints from the cash register and the front doors of the business as well.” Now authorities are looking for the three men responsible. “They are definitely armed and when they are armed they are considered to be dangerous—again 2 of 3 did have handguns which were used in the robbery incident,” said White. Fingerprints taken from the scene have been sent to the state crime lab. White added, “Right now investigators are out following up on any leads but as always if anyone has any information we encourage them to call Crimestoppers or the Police Department Detective Division at (870) 863-INFO.”
