Small Children Find Baby Brother Dead On Couch

Police say small children discovered their own baby brother dead in their home early Thursday morning.
Now investigators are trying to find out how the baby died.
Shoes left on a roof - are a reminder of the children who used to live in the house on Egan Street. Now the home is a crime scene -- as investigators interview neighbors -- to find out why four small children were left alone, eventually finding their 3 month old baby brother dead on a couch.
Police say the mother is Latarsha Dixon -- a single mother of 5. 13 year old Manya Jones is Dixon's next door neighbor. She says Dixon called her on the phone Thursday morning to babysit her kids. Manya was in the front yard when one of Dixon's children came out screaming that his baby brother wasn't breathing.
"She did it, she did it, she did it...she let a man control her and she take her anger out on her kids," said Manya Jones.
Manya, with her mother standing near by -- says she believes Dixon beat her baby to death -- after an angry fight with her boyfriend. But despite everything, from what Jones and her family saw day to day -- they say Dixon was a good mother.
Right now Dixon faces cruelty to a juvenile. But police say if the autopsy shows the baby suffered some sort of trauma, that charge could be upgraded to second degree murder.
