Baby Struck By Van In Monroe

Family members and neighbors were in disbelief as they stood by watching police investigate the accident scene.
Essie Comanche said, "It's something devastating to see."
A 2 year old baby was struck by a van. His great grandmother along with his father, Vasquez Comanche saw everything.
Vasquez Comanche said, "My son was over there, my son hugged on the friend. Before I had time to react it couldn't come out, my boy was running across the street."
The baby flew through the air and landed here. Authorities say this is the van that hit the toddler. The driver is a Ouachita Parish school board employee according to police. Investigators say there's no evidence the driver was speeding or was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but the investigation is on going.
Corporal Doug Lambert said, "Right now I don't know if there was anything negligent that he did."
