Thirty six year old Lavonne Drummond is pregnant with child number seven.
Right before she found out she was pregnant he husband left, leaving her with the financial burden of seven kids.
Drummond said, “I stayed with family members to get back on my feet and it just got too hard.”
So Lavonne came up with a solution and with some help from her son, she listed the right to name her seventh child.. on eBay.
Drummond said, “The idea came to solve two problems; one is that I’ve just run out of names. So many children and I really couldn’t think of a name. So this is a good idea maybe someone out there with a really big heart has a good name.”
As of Friday 72 people have placed bids with the highest bid at twenty-seven hundred dollars.
So what happens if Lavonne doesn’t like the name given to her baby boy?
She said, “I will honor any name. I’m putting my trust out there to please choose a great name.”
And not everyone’s sold on the idea— Lavonne says the sale has caused a strain on her relationship with her parents and sister.
But all she really wants is to support her kids.
Drummond said, “A vehicle to fit all of us—pay my phone bill, you know. Anything is a blessing—even prayers.”
But either way—its something lucky number seven will never forget.
“I’m sure this will be a memory for all of them later in life.”
Drummond is due on September 15th. If you want to name her son, you can head over to eBay and place your bid. Just search for “legal baby name.”
The auction closes Sunday evening and at last check the bidding was up to twenty-seven hundred dollars.
