The fate of the Monroe city school superintendent remains unclear. The school board was supposed to have Dr. James Duprees rescheduled removal hearing today -- but its been postponed once again. More than a year after he was originally fired and after wasting 30 thousand dollars to find his replacement only to rehire him... the Monroe City School Board is once again trying to remove Superintendent Dr. James Dupree. This time the battle is being played out in court. The school boards attorney remained mum as the leadership of Monroe City schools remains in limbo. The majority of the board members have accused the superintendent of everything from secretive contracts, to poor communication to failing the school system overall. But in court, in a meeting with a federal judge Monday, both lawyers say theyre trying to work things out. They say theyre "trying to find a mutually agreeable process for a removal hearing".
