The Cook family in Monroe says their world stopped on February 4th, 2008. That day their cousin was gunned down by her own friend. Jessica Williams was only 19 years old and a mother of two. Her family thought her killer would be sentenced today, but it seems they'll have to wait a little longer.

A year and a half after Leshell Cook's cousin was killed, tears still stream down her face as she thinks about that day. A day when she was fast asleep: "It was very hard first day in the morning everyone's asleep how can you get somebody calling you she's been shot she'd dead she should be asleep too," said Cook.

Tasha Lister admitted to gunning down her friend Jessica Williams. It happened in a quiet yard on Adams Street in Monroe. The friends can be seen posing in many pictures. Both were young mothers. The victim, only 19. In the wake of this homicide, Williams leaves behind two small children.

The family says children are now orphaned because of something so trivial -- a fight over a man. A fight that grew so heated, Tasha got a gun and shot her friend in the neck. And oddly, just a few weeks after the shooting, Tasha Lister's house burned to the ground. Investigators say the arson left 14 homeless and it's still unsolved.

Thursday, the family of Jessica Williams say too many have been hurt, for so small a reason.
