Melvin Reagan works with Common Grounds, he said, "Trying to be a blessing and a help to our fellow man and add a bit to our community."
Melvin Reagan says he and a group of local folks put their heads together and started common grounds back in February.
Their sole purpose? To make a change in Delhi, for the better.
"Reaching out to find needs in the community that are prevalent. Organize so we can gain strength by numbers."
So they find deserving people who need help the most.
Saturday the groups project was a home in Delhi. Over the years the roof has deteriorated and the woman living inside hasnt been able to replace it.
"She has done so much for others and doesnt have the means as many of us have, she still reaches out to the community."
And donations from some local individuals went to buy this roofing. Now folks are volunteering their day to repair the roof.
"I think this is the real work of Christ, Im moved by this, it connects people, brings friendships and fellowships."
Reagan says this is just the first project for common grounds and hopes there are many more in the coming years.
"Out reach is unlaced with anything that could be selfish, we ask for nothing in return. A lot of our fulfillment and people involved want to keep it pure as we can keep it . Helping others rather than helping ourselves."
And Common Grounds is holding a benefit next month to help fund its next big project.
The main street Delhi car show is happening November 7th on Main Street. All the money raised will go to help the family of a 20 year old who is fighting leukemia.
